Until now, I’ve used my Elgato HD60 to capture high-quality screenshots for all of my reviews. This process is stressful because it not only takes awhile to set up properly, but also the device is unreliable in providing top quality and often gets garbled when capturing gameplay.
I’ve decided to only use the Switch’s internal capture function (if available) to take screenshots for my reviews. Note that these are unfortunately restricted to 720p and only provides screens in rather compressed jpg quality.
However, I definitely plan on providing Elgato-captured screens in the future. These will be provided in their own posts for handy viewing. Likely a bunch of games in one post. It’s FAR easier for me to use Elgato to grab screens of multiple games at once than doing them on different occasions.
So I wanted to give a heads up in advance for whenever my next review is made, that’s the direction I’m going for screenshots.
