GameFly lists Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville – Complete Edition for Switch, out on March 19th, 2021

We may be very close to at long last seeing EA’s Frostbite engine running on Switch! This has been rumored for a while, at least since Jeff Grubb mentioned EA’s possible slate for Switch from their EA Play event until the year after. One of the games mentioned was Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, which hadn’t been revealed at all at the time (hell it might’ve been the very first peep ever of the game!). And sure enough, it was revealed and released for Switch and other systems this past holiday season. Among that list was Plants Vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, which happens to run on Forstbite (as did the two prior Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare games as well).

ESRB rates LEGO Marvel Super Heroes for Switch

The NA ESRB rating board has leaked what may be a surprise Switch port of the original 2013-released LEGO Marvel Super Heroes game, previously released at that time for basically every platform; from Wii U and 3DS, to PS3, Vita, and 360, and as launch titles for the newly launched PS4 and Xbox One. Not to be forgetting PC, Mac, and mobile. I guess the Wii, DS, and PSP weren’t invited to the party.

Release Date: December 23rd, 2020 (NA)
File Size: 147MB

Here’s my second review of a Neo Geo Pocket Color game on Switch. This time it’s an adaptation of the Fatal Fury franchise. The same where Terry Bogard, who some may recognize as a recent newcomer in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, originated from (yes, a LOT of folks likely were introduced to him this way!). Here the game is much like The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny on NGPC (which I just reviewed before), but how does this game compare to it? Let’s find out!

Dungeon of the Endless (Switch eShop) Review

Title: Dungeon of the Endless

Developer: Amplitude Studios/Playdigious (Switch version)
Publisher: Playdigious
Release Date: May 15th, 2020 (NA)
File Size: 2GB

This review is actually massively overdue. I’ve tried for months to just play it adequately but only managed to do so a bit. It’s not the game’s fault (well, aside from the difficulty) but mine for just not being good enough to play it as well as I wish I could. However I will do my best to review it. I do have good things to say about it, so don’t for a second that I will act poorly against it because of my own faults,

The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny (Switch eShop) Review

Title: The Last Blade: Beyond the Destiny
Platform: Nintendo Switch eShop
Developer: SNK/Code Mystics (Switch version)
Publisher: SNK
Release Date: October 28th, 2020 (NA)
File Size: 130MB

Look at that, it’s a NEOGEO Pocket Color game! The system (maybe) collectively known as “oh the one Sonic Pocket Adventure is still only on”… Okay I’m (half) joking! Anyway… this is my first review of a game that’s from the new NEOGEO Pocket Color Selection series of games that’s a Switch-exclusive line of NGPC re-releases. Basically like the Arcade Archives (which the original NEOGEO is part of) and the sadly now ended Sega Ages line.

So how does this game and its features fare on Switch? Will it fill you with color or leave you dull and grey? Let’s find out!

This was a surprise! NISA out of nowhere announced a two-pack of both Prinny titles from the PSP exclusively for the Nintendo Switch! Both games can be bought either together via the retail release (both are their own icons), or separately on the eShop. How do the games and their ports on Switch fare? Will they make you happy like a Prinny full of sardines, or as dead as an exploding Prinny? LET’S FIND OUT DOOD!

Megadimension Neptunia VII (Switch eShop) Review

Title: Megadimension Neptunia VII
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Developer: Compile Heart/Ghostlight Games (Switch version)
Publisher: Idea Factory International (NA)
Release Date: July 28th, 2020 (NA)
File Size: 6.9GB

Review copy provided by Idea Factory International

This is my third review of an Idea Factory game, the first being Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force (also ported by Ghostlight), and the second being Super Neptunia RPG. Despite the name, it’s actually the 4th entry in the series, because “Neptunia 3” was called Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, and this game is literally pronounced as “V 2”, not “7”. So how does this game fare? Will it make you as sad as Neptune gets when she’s out of pudding, or will it make you feel happy like Neptune is with unlimited pudding? Let’s find out!

(RUMOR) NatsumeAtari is making a new Kiki KaiKai game for Switch

It’s been reported by the usual Japanese blogger Ryokutya that (going by Google Translate), NatsumeAtari are making a new Kiki KaiKai project for Switch. This is to be another of their Tengo Projects that includes Wild Guns Reloaded and The Ninja Saviors, both of which are also on Switch.

Reminder that this is seen via Google Translate. Veteran Japanese new reporter Gematsu or Siliconera will likely have a report with a proper translation soon enough. Are you excited for this? Let me know!

void tRrLM(); //Void Terrarium (Switch) Review

Another NIS game! Yes, this comes from the team behind The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince (review), and prior games not on Switch including htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary and A Rose in the Twilight. Indeed, that Firefly game has a very similar style of name. If anything this game and that are most similar I suppose (just guessing), hell even the character designs are identical.

A big twist is that this game vs. the prior ones has 3D bits in it in the form of the Mystery Dungeon/Rogue-Like gameplay sections. But there’s quite a bit more… like a Tamagotchi element!? Curious? Read on!
