GameFly has just recently, possibly even today, updated their listed release date for Yoshi’s Crafted World for Switch as being March 29th, 2019.
When retailer sites list games, they typically list placeholder dates. These dates, when there’s a vague year or even month known, are usually listed as the last day of the month, or year. For example, if Yoshi was confirmed for March 2019, then they would list it as say, March 31st, 2019. Or if it’s just 2019, then it’d be December 31st, 2019.
March 29th, 2019 is an oddly specific choice for a placeholder date. So it’s very possible that GameFly spilled the beans on a possible release date for the game. All we knew so far was a Spring 2019 release period as confirmed in the last Nintendo Direct back on September 13th, 2018.
As a reminder, the game was revealed without a title back at E3 2017 during Nintendo’s E3 spotlight presentation. The game is developed by Good-Feel, the same team who also developed Yoshi’s Woolly World on Wii U and 3DS, as well as Kirby’s Epic Yarn on Wii (and its upcoming 3DS port called Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn), and before that Wario Land: Shake It! (or Wario Land: The Shake Dimension in EU) on Wii.
That’s all there is for now. What are your thoughts? Let me know in the comments below!
