New Super Monkey Ball game rated in Taiwan for Switch/PS4/PC

The wait for a new Super Monkey Ball game may finally be nearly over. The Taiwan rating board have recently put up a rating listing for a new Super Monkey Ball game for Switch, PS4, and PC whose title (現嚐好滋味!超級猴子球) seems to translate (via Google Translate) from Chinese as Now Taste Good! Super Monkey Ball. There’s also a Japanese title in the rating (たべごろ!スーパーモンキーボール) that translates to the similar The food is great! Super Monkey Ball.

To locate this on the Taiwan rating site, simply copy and paste either the Chinese or the Japanese names above (without the brackets) into the search bar you see, and viola! Here are the images of the full rating (on Switch) and the list showing the platforms for your convenience and in case they get taken down anyway:

Are you looking forward to seeing what this game will be? Have you played any prior entry? Let me know in the comments below! 😀

Hyrule Warriors is a crossover between the Zelda series, and the Dynasty Warriors series created by Koei. More specifically, it’s a Dynasty Warriors game, but with the theme of The Legend of Zelda. Dynasty Warriors is a series that features what can be called a 1 vs 1000 kind of game. You play as a general, and you hack and slash your way through MANY soldiers in bunches and such. Hyrule Warriors is no different in this regard. Is the game a hack, or does it slash its way into your heart? Let’s find out!

Here is my collection of Nintendo’s E3 press site assets from E3 2010-E3 2018.

UPDATE (May 3rd, 2020): E3 2019 is up!

Surprise! I’ve been attempting to archive Nintendo’s E3 press site assets for the last near decade. All in their original ZIP files with zero editing, except for some E3 2015 stuff where I had the actual files, but they were taken out of their ZIP files so I had to put them in new ones.

I have the following from newest to oldest:

E3 2019

E3 2018

E3 2017

E3 2016

E3 2015

E3 2014

E3 2013

E3 2012

E3 2011

E3 2010

And two bonus ones:

Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017

Wii U Experience Event Holiday 2012

Now, 2016, 2017, and 2018 seem to be 100% complete. Everything prior was mostly the stuff relevant to me. Most will have Nintendo’s Wii U stuff in it like in 2013 and 2014 for instance. I only kept and uploaded Pikmin 3 for E3 2012 for whatever reason back then, and 2010 only has Sonic Colors. Also for some reason I only kept about half of the Switch Presentation stuff.

I may find more stuff, but no promises. A lot of older archives were lost when my computer back in 2011 went bust.

That’s about it! I hope you’ll enjoy what I’ve collected to date! 🙂

Today’s NISA game comes from the same team that created Penny-Punching Princess (here’s my review of that) and evidently so. You can see from screenshots alone that the visual style is very similar, but with less pixelated sprites. Does this game guide you to fun, or will it be so bad that it’s INCONCEIVABLE! Let’s find out!

The Caligula Effect: Overdose (Switch) Review

Title: The Caligula Effect Overdose
Platform: Nintendo Switch
Developer: Aquria (Vita original)/Historia (PS4 remake)/Engine Software (Switch version)
Publisher: Nippon Ichi Software America
Release Date: March 12th, 2019 (NA)
ROM File Size: 5.3GB
Amazon retail purchase pages: US/UK/JP
eShop purchase and info pages: US/UK/JP

Review copy provided by Nippon Ichi Software America

This is a port of a remake so to speak. The game originated as simply The Caligula Effect on Vita which was localized by Atlus some bit ago. Last year the game was sort of remade for PS4 by a different dev called Historia. The PS4 version was made on Unreal Engine 4 instead (I don’t know what engine the Vita original used), had numerous changes including rewriting the script and changing some things around, and added a female playable character (you could only play as a male in the Vita original). The Switch version is a port of the PS4 version. This port was by Engine Software, a dev well-known by Nintendo fans for a variety of ports.

Engine Software did the Switch ports of games such as Little Nightmares: Complete Edition, Monopoly, Risk, RIVE, Into the Breach, Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas, etc. How does the game and Engine’s port work handle on Switch? Let’s find out!

The first NISA Switch game of 2019 is here! This is another in NIS’s “indie” sort of projects where they hold a sort of internal pitch contest and the winning ones get made into smaller budget games. Prior examples include Penny-Punching Princess and the original Yomawari: Night Alone. You can read my reviews of both on Switch here and here.

So how does this one fare? Let’s find out!
